JULY 2025 - 🥧☀️🍒
Hotter than a hoochie coochie
I truly feel this has been the hottest month I have ever experienced in the 15 years I have lived in the city. I have avoided turning on my oven, making pie crust, its just been way to hot. My only interests have been taking cold showers and lying in bed with no skin touching any other skin and drifting off to sleep because being hot exhausts me.
I did however have a very good reason to make a ton of pie crust and turn of my oven. I got the honor of a lifetime and got asked to host a Demo & Dine event at the Platform by James Beard Foundation on Sunday, July 13th at 2pm!
It was an afternoon of yapping’ and slices with the help of the team at Platform and my friends over at Farm To People, Wyman’s Berries, Duke’s Mayonnaise and Kitchen Arts & Letters (there are signed copies of the book available there now if you find yourself wanting a copy and on the Upper East Side) everything went off without a hitch!
It was truly such a treat to get to bake in the Platform by JBF kitchen. It was so beyond beautiful I would have baked hundreds more pies if they allowed me.
My friends over at Farm To People wanted to give my Substack subscribers a little gift! Use code STACEY25 for $25 your first box! You won’t be disappointed!

NEXT ON THE DOCKET!
I'll be teaching a virtual class on Thursday August 7th at 5pm EST with my friends over at Milk Street tickets here use code PIE15 for 15% off and bake pie with me from wherever you are! This is a fun one because it’s a little two for one action! I’ll be teaching you have to make a berry crumble pie and also teaching you how to take all those same ingredients to turn them into hand pies! My favorite road trip food!
Besides that if you don’t wanna make pie but just come eat pie there are a few pop ups down the pipeline i’m super excited to announce, look out for a Short Stack on that!
Other than that I’m going to chill on the pie front and enjoy the last month of summer!
I’ll be hitting the road on a much needed vacation at the end of August! Calling it “The Road to 37” watch out for a little vlog series I have planned on my instagram. A long roadtrip planned with my friend Jenny and my dog Nora. The destination? Red Rocks to see Sierra Ferrell and Nikki Lane play!
What I am…
TOO MUCH on Netflix- Prior to my full body need to watch Lena Dunhams return to the small screen I didn’t have a Netflix subscription, now I do. This show was absolute perfection. No one writes girlhood better than Lena. Meg Slater is a breath of fresh air and the music is absolute perfection. I mean Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby do a cover of The Fray song “You Found Me”, what more could a girl want?
LISTENING: SWAG by Justin Bieber - I had my doubts but the boys is back with hit after hit after hit with the help of Mk.gee and Dijon. This is the perfect driving music or getting stuck in traffic on your way back from New Jersey after a fun day hanging on a roof top with friends.
Liked my Short Stack series? See all of my product recs going forward for all things being alive as an adult person in this world over at my ShopMy!
That’s all from me now!
with love, butter and slices of pie!
xoxo
Stacey
